Yes on Amendment 3 - Rescue those being led away to death

Rescue those being led away to death; hold back those staggering toward slaughter. – Proverbs 24:11-12

With the increasing presence of ungodliness in our country it seems that we must, out of love for our neighbor, consider elections and legislation with a close eye. One big event that happened in November 2024, is that abortion (murder of preborn children) was enshrined in the Missouri Constitution under the guise of a “right to reproductive freedom”. This has actually made Missouri a more dangerous place for preborn children than many other states in America. It is a deep shame that our neighbors have chosen this for their children, and that our legislators have been stripped of the power to stop it.

In response, we now have Amendment 3, this November 3rd, which seeks to reverse this decision and again ban most abortions in the state. I want to be clear that this amendment is not enough. It provides exceptions and an arbitrary 12-week limit. Yet, I believe that what is necessary is that this amendment passes so that we can continue to appeal to our state legislature and governor to fully abolish abortion once protections for the unborn can again be restricted in our constitution.

I encourage you over October and into November to pray for the passage of Amendment 3 and advocate with your neighbors to vote yes on Amendment 3. We will be unpopular for this, but we will stand before God on judgment day and give an account about our love of our neighbors, both in restraining them from evil (those who wish to commit or support abortion) and in rescuing those being led away to death (preborn children). Justice demands we take every step we can against this evil culture of death that has been infecting America and now Missouri.
